Bag: Marc Jacobs | Shoes: Favorite Work Heels – old, but I found them in nude here, similar

Hi friends & happy Monday! I shot this look a few weeks ago and knew I had to share the location with you on the week of the 4th! My hometown of Fremont, NE is known for it’s antique stores. This is one of the awesome doorways you’ll find downtown.

I headed to the Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday with two of my best friends and we quickly decided on the motto “screw it, it’s Saturday!” We stopped along the way at a mom & pop breakfast diner and two awesome downtown areas. I’m thinking I’ll have to write out a roadtrip guide since it was more of an adventure than we anticipated!

I took the week off work to enjoy vacation with my family and friends, but you should get pieces of this look ASAP for your workwear closet! I nabbed this dress from Target in May to wear for my conference in Vegas but with my habit of overpacking, I didn’t ever get to debut it. It’s more of a silk-like material, making it easily worn for both work or a night out. My favorite parts are the adjustable straps and the fact that it’s machine-washable; this is rare for my work wardrobe!

I paired the dress with a poka-dot blazer that I’ve had for ages and my favorite Sam Edelman heels. I wear these heels 4/5 days a week and have THREE pairs. That should tell you something!

This week’s planner question and Motivation Monday:

Who are you thankful for this week? Send a note or card of appreciation to your friends, colleagues, etc. thanking them for all that they deserve.

I peeked last week and did this one early since I’m on vacation, but I chose five friends who could use some extra love this week. I sent two cards: congrats on your move and a wedding card, and I mailed three notes “just because”. I also dropped a thank you card off to our intern at work, since she has been a major blessing to our team.

It may seem trivial or weird to send your best friends notes, but letting others know they’re appreciated can go a long way. I also like to include a bible verse in a few, letting them know I’m thinking about how to help them with whatever they’re going through.

Have a great week, friends! Be sure to follow my Instagram to see vacation stories and pics!

  • If you watched my stories, you may have seen my GIANT #monstera! I decided to propagate it on Monday after finding this perfect rattan-looking ceramic planter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is my first year with any houseplants that aren’t succulents so I googled a ton of blog posts about how to propagate. Today (after waiting 3 days) I swapped the water out for new and placed the cutting next to the current plant on a little table. I’m hoping this works and it grows roots/thrives in a few weeks. Please send me ALLLL your houseplant tips! So far I only do these
  • Would rather have been in the snow in Jackson Hole than getting 10+ inches in Nebraska❄️ Last January we were skiing, drinking wine and venturing around my favorite place. Take me back! Where’s your favorite winter trip? #visitjacksonhole #jacksonhole #wintertrip #snowday #nebraskablogger #letitsnow #winterfashion #winterstyle #sorelboots #patagonia #milliondollarcowboybar #skijacksonhole
  • Each year I set a reading goal, and most years it increases. In 2020, I wanted to read 32 books; however, 2020 was a bit of a mess. Although I spent more time at home than ever before, I spent less time reading. I did get the chance to finish 26 novels, and I can’t wait to share them with you on my blog today! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know it’s past the end of the year, but I wanted to share my “best books of 2020” post still, as I know many of you made a reading goal for this year
  • If you’ve followed me since the holidays, I’ve been testing the @peterthomasrothofficial Water Drench Hyaluronic Glow Serum from @sephora, and I’m amazed with how this product literally drenches your skin with intense moisture. In the winter (especially this weather), I always struggle with certain parts of my face being more dry than others, and if I had any dry spots, applying this at night took them away by morning.  I use one other serum at night, and this was a great one to alternate this season (I also love PTR’s masks). It’s clinically shown to lock in hydration for up
  • Finished last weekend’s project! We added board and batten to the previously plain entry way. I jokingly told my mom I’d do this project if it cost less than $40 - it was only $38 to complete, so we did it! Plus, @menardshomeimprovement 11% rebates are back Swipe to see before ➡️ I added a new entry table from Hobby Lobby (in-store only) and some decor I had around the house. I can’t wait to show you the other area we added board and batten to once it’s complete! http://liketk.it/3alwq #liketkit @liketoknow.it #entryway #entrywaydecor #entrywaytable #boardandbatten #boardandbattenwall #hobbylobbyfinds #hobbylobby #homedecor
  • Our first two days in Utah have been GORGEOUS. The weather is sunny and 70’s + the hikes have been incredible at @canyonlandsnps, @deadhorsepoint, and @archesnps! Tomorrow we’re hiking more of Arches + repelling down canyons, so we’ll see how that goes I’ve been sharing lots in my stories, including the fun places we’ve been staying. So far I 10/10 recommend camping at Dead Horse State Park. Just wowwww! Happy Sunday! ☀️
