The return of Husker game day gets me way too excited! Which is better: tailgating or the excitement before kick off when 90,000 jam-packed people in the stadium hold up their shoes in unison?
Last year, I was in Chicago for almost all of the Husker games. I spent a lot of Saturdays at Kirkwood’s (one of the Husker bars in Chi) cheering for my alma matter! This year, I am back in the good life and taking full advantage of it!
I spent the first gameday tailgating with friends and family. My favorite public spots to hit before the game are tailgates under the bridge, in Haymarket Park parking lot, Barry’s and The Journal Star lot. I consumed a good amount of vodka, cheesey potatoes and burgers!
Dressing for gameday in Nebraska can be challenging because of our random weather. For instance, last Saturday it started raining at 2PM, but by 7PM, it was sunny and 80 degrees. It’s also different than a lot of schools south of us-we don’t have to dress up! Wripped jeans, tees and sunnies are enough!
I found this adorable red shirt online at Chicwish. It’s flowy and can be tucked in or tied up.
I’m probably going to wear these jeans every single gameday! They had 68 reviews and all were 4+ stars, so I knew I couldn’t go wrong when I ordered them.
My shoes were previously featured in our shoe dupes post – shoutout to Target!
Happy Gameday, friends & GO BIG RED! ?
