It’s officially been a whole year of monthly recap sharing on MP! If you’ve been here since the beginning – thanks for following along on my 25th year of life. If you’re new here – hey girl, hey! In these recaps I share my favorite purchases, travels, movies I’ve seen, posts I’ve read, and more!
What I Bought:
As you may have seen on Instagram, I tried to keep my February spending at a minimum and participated in Frugal February. I did, though, get this Gucci Dupe bag on Amazon and I LOVE it. It’s a great size!
I also snagged these sandals from Target for warmer weather. I’m headed to Texas this weekend – good timing!
For The Home:
This month I finally started my bathroom remodel! I’ve been talking about this for a long time, and I’m so excited for things to begin. This is the first room in my house I’m actually gutting – down to the studs. It’ll be interesting to see what’s behind the walls. The bathroom right now is very 70-80’s. It’s covered in floral wallpaper and has white/tan tile going halfway up the walls. I tried to do a quick fix and take the wallpaper down, thinking I could just paint the top half, but it looks disastrous. The walls are not worth patching and painting.
I also tried to have a shower installed – one of the round ones for a free-standing tub that hangs from the ceiling – but there isn’t enough water pressure (old pipes probably) for me to even wash my hair. It’s great for rinsing off after a Peloton ride, but basically nothing else.
I ordered my tub, new toilet (so funny how excited I am for this), custom vanity, and marble countertop. I should be able to begin demo towards the end of the month – I can’t wait to show you all! If you didn’t see it on Instagram, this is the countertop I chose.
Items in My Shopping Cart:
- I can’t decide if this is a little too extra, or stylish. I love this Louis Vuitton Apple Watch band from Etsy.
- I’m not sure if this counts as “in my shopping cart”, but I’m leaning toward joining the Book of the Month Club. Let me know if you’ve tried it or have heard anything about it!
Where I Traveled/Ate:
February brought Omaha Fashion Week, which was a ton of fun to attend with my Omaha Blogger Collective gals! I attended multiple shows, but my personal favorite was the Emerging Designer Night on Friday. It’s such a unique event in Omaha and brings together so many different people – if you haven’t been, it’s twice a year and the next event will be in August!
We grabbed dinner before Friday night’s show at Epoca Cantina in The Capitol District. They had a great happy hour – $4 margs and $2 street tacos – so I definitely recommend it!
What I Watched:
Why does Netflix have so many crazy shows right now? I watched Abducted in Plain Sight… Wowza.
I’m a big Hulu lover and I finished another season of Master Chef. Competition cooking shows are my jam.
February marked an end to my Movie Pass era. When I got it last year, I could see one movie/day, but now they’re limiting it to three/month. It’s just not worth it to me, so I did not renew. I saw two movies in February, though, before the pass expired:
Isn’t It Romantic – 3/10 – I didn’t enjoy this Rebel Wilson film. It was seriously TOO rom-com. I love the actors in it, but they took it too far.
What Men Want – 7/10 – Although the beginning was drawn out, this movie was actually great. Good back story, good acting, and it was relatable. I would recommend renting this one for a girl’s night.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared any Pinterest finds. I was on an Old Fashioned Oats kick apparently, because I made these Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Oat Bars and Flourless Greek Yogurt Banana Oat Muffins. I really liked both, but would recommend the muffins over the bars.

My Current Skincare Routine – Shelby Ditch (friends, she is my favorite beauty blogger and I don’t think I’ve shared anything from her yet! She’s in the Midwest too and just SO relatable.)
As I mentioned, I’m headed to Texas on Friday for a long weekend! I’m excited to do a little road trip with my friend Jessica – we’re going to make it to the Create & Cultivate Pop-Up Conference on Sunday in Austin. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on our trip on Instagram – we’re headed to Dallas, Waco (Magnolia), and Austin in four days. Wish us luck!
