Where I Traveled/Ate:
Avoli Osteria – This is in Omaha and I ate here with my mom in early December and it was AMAZING. I had prosecco to drink and we split the brushetta. I ate the risotto, which was incredible and she had a seafood dish. I can’t wait to go back!
Railcar – I love Railcar’s lunch specials! I had a sandwich and sweet potato fries + cheese curds. You have to order the cheese curds.
Polymath Cyber Cafe – A local Fremont cafe, I am obsessed with their chicken salad sandwiches and smoothies!
Z’s Bar & Grill – I went to Scriber with my parents to grab burgers and watch the Nebraska volleyball team win the National Championship! I had a Blue Moon on tap with my cheeseburger and neither were disappointing!
Movies or Shows I Saw:
Home Again – This was the perfect pick for a girl’s night. I laughed so hard and it was such a feel-good movie. I’m also obsessed with Reese Witherspoon, and her acting was on point.
10 Cloverfield Lane – What a weird film and ending! A woman gets in a car accident and wakes up in an underground bunker. It’s very out there!
A Christmas Carol – Every year I see this play at the Omaha Community Playhouse and it’s a tradition I love. I skipped a few years living in Chicago and realized this year how much I missed it!
Pitch Perfect 3 – We saw this for our Marketing Team outing and it was perfect! I thought the first two Pitch Perfect movies were identical, but this differed from the rest. Definitely rent it if you don’t see it in theaters!
Netflix/Hulu Series I Watched:
Frankie & Grace: This is my new obsession. I watched three seasons in December and I can’t get enough! How I hadn’t heard of this before is beyond me! I don’t know which character I like more, hilarious Frankie or tasteful, stubborn Grace. I also think Sul is the sweetest and the twist of two divorcees living together makes me LOL.
The Mick: December must have been a comedic relief month for me! The Mick started as one of my favorite shows last Spring, and I couldn’t wait for it to come back in the fall. I caught up on episodes on Hulu.
The Bachelor Preview: Did anyone else watch this? It felt like it was the first episode, honestly! I have been watching The Bachelor since I was in 7th grade (sooo 12 years), and I watched Emily’s season, so I’m familiar with Arie. He deserves love! I randomly filled out my bracket this week – we’ll see how my picks turn out! My office mate was joking about just picking all 4 girls named Lauren in the final four – inevitably one will be there!
Recipes I Tried:
Chicken Alfredo Tortellini in the Slow Cooker – this was delicious and lasted all week for me to take for work! I’ve been on a tortellini kick and buy the fresh ones at Hy-Vee.
