Best Wines To Gift
With Christmas in five days, I’m sharing the best wines to gift. Wine is something you can pick up last-minute and everyone will love!
Ah it’s Wine Wednesday! After a busy half of the week, many of us (okay, probably most of us), find ourselves relaxed in front of a Netflix episode with a glass of wine. I know I’m guilty. I find myself pouring my go-to drink in my kitchen now that my cabinets are painted white! I’m straying away from the post theme…but bear with me when you see the before:
When I moved in, September 2017:
I’m so happy with how far they’ve come (more pictures below)! I still need countertops, sink/appliances installed and the blue wallpaper torn down, but it’s such progress! I deserve this wine 😉
In October, my friend Audrey texted me asking for a wine recommendation for a co-worker. It made me realize how very little most of my friends know about gifting wine. I wanted to help her, and others, so I’m sharing my guide so you can give the best vino.
With Christmas in just FIVE days, wine makes the perfect last-minute gift or gift everyone wants at a gift exchange!
My bar cart is kind of a mess right now…but it always holds a variety of bottles of wine. I never know which girlfriend is going to text me that they’ve had a rough day or when I’m going to need to pull one out for a quick present. [Note: still have to do the trim on my floors after we pulled up the carpet, don’t judge!]
Or, when I’m going to need a glass myself!
Best Wines to Gift:
Moscato:
My recommendation here, the Stella Rosa, as shown above. Moscato is a wine to give to the girlfriend who you AREN’T sure if she even likes wine. It’s so light and refreshing, anyone who is uber girly is going to like it. Or if you’re gifting to someone who just turned 21 and is still acquiring a taste for wine!
Sauvignon Blanc:
If you’re trying to decide what kind of white wine to gift, you should go with Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a dry, French wine that is easily drank – by those who are wine-o’s or enjoy the occasional glass. I like Kim Crawford the best.
Chardonnay:
To the girlfriend you know drinks white wine, all the time. I think Butter is the most popular Charrdonay.
Sweet Red:
This is basically a moscato. If it’s a friend you want to try red wine, or you aren’t sure if the friend drinks red or white, this is kind of a cross. The cheap stuff of this is good – like Apothic Red or Cupcake.
Pinot Noir:
Give this in a gift exchange. All the time. Most people love it, and if they don’t, someone will probably steal it. Meomi is a very classic, popular Pinot, but you could also go with something like Dreaming Tree.
Cabernet Sauvignon:
This is a deep red, so this is for more of a seasoned wine drinker or someone who likes strong tastes – like usually drinks whiskey. This is my go-to for my mom. I prefer J.Lohr, but Josh and Hall are good – Josh is inexpensive and Hall is pricey.
So, pour yourself a glass or grab a few – you can’t go wrong with any of these wines to gift (or gift yourself!).
