June Recap

Sharing a June 2018 recap – all the things I bought, watched, ate, where I traveled and more!

What I Bought:

This silk pillowcase from Amazon – I’m trying to only wash my hair every-other day. I’m a brunette and it’s a continual abuse of dry shampoo, though :/
An essential oil diffuser and these oils, also from Amazon – My roommate has one and I always walk downstairs and it smells SO GOOD. I can’t believe the price on it, too!
I saw one of my favorite bloggers post about collagen peptides and then heard about them on The Skinny Confidential Podcast and decided I needed to try. I’ll update you once I’ve used them regularly. I was super surprised at the amount of responses I had when I put them on my Instagram story – so many women I know use them! I’ve learned they’re best with smoothies or HOT coffee (dissolves right away & no taste).

3 Items In My Shopping Cart:

  1. This incredible work bag that holds a 15′ laptop (UNICORN FIND) AND it’s a good price.
  2. This tank that’s under $30 and comes in a summer yellow!
  3. The Drybar Curling Wand is coming up on the Nordstrom sale for an incredible price (it comes with accessories). It’s not like a regular shaped wand – the top gets wider so the bottom of your curls look more natural and beachy.

Home Changes:

I went live on Instagram the last week of June and shared my kitchen updates! It was my first “live” experience and I was a little goofy, but it was fun to show you all what I’ve been up to in my house! The floors are complete, lighting is up and my new window is installed! My wonderful parents are painting/installing the baseboard (pre-wainscoting) this week!

Where I Traveled/Ate:

Bachelorette Party in Omaha – I planned a bachelorette party for one of my best friends in downtown Omaha last weekend. We did a pedal pub with Omaha Patio Ride, and I would definitely recommend it! Our night consisted of dinner at Upstream Brewery, drinks at the new Capitol District and a stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. The next morning, we ran into Grace Vanderwall in the elevator because she was opening that night for Imagine Dragons – MIND BLOWN!

Hardy Coffee – You may have caught my coffee shop ventures on Instagram. I asked for requests and you guys did not disappoint! I tried out Hardy in Benson in June and enjoyed a hot mocha. Hardy actually is the same coffee as my favorite Fremont stop – The Milady Coffeehouse – so I was drawn to go there first! Here’s a full list of recommendations (and let me know if you want to go on a coffee date, because WOW there’s a lot!):

Movies I Saw:

Oceans 8: This is a bit drawn out, but has a great ending! Rating: 6/10

Adrift: I was holding my own hand. This true story is incredible and I would definitely recommend renting it if you didn’t see it in theaters. Rating: 8/10

Tag: I swear, the trailer for this movie was in every preview I saw last month. It was funny and sweet – plus at the end they showed clips of the real 10 guys that played tag together for so many years – but it wasn’t AS amazing as I anticipated. Rating: 6/10

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom: I am a Jurassic Park FANATIC, so I obviously loved this one. It’s definitely got a different plot than previous movies, but I love how they incorporate the same characters. I can’t rate this, I’m too biased!

Netflix/Hulu Series I Watched:

The new season (3) of Unreal is now on Hulu and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve even got my roommate into this series. It’s like a behind-the-scenes fictional story of filming “Everlasting” AKA The Bachelor and what REALLY happens (or so they say).

Favorite Posts of the Month:

Not a post, but this video of Lauryn Evart’s PM skin routine
Chloe went to Orlando for a press trip and I wanted all of the things. Mostly the lemon centerpieces.

Looking Forward:

July marks the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – open to cardholders on the 12th! Honestly, I am poor and I don’t think I’m going to purchase anything but that curling wand, but we’ll see.

I’m headed to Minneapolis and Chicago in August and I can’t wait! It’s going to be a busy month; I have one free weekend! I can’t wait to be back in Chicago. It’s been almost two years (that almost makes me cry).
