Fall Must Have: Velvet

Fall-Must-Have-Velvet | Velvet Skirt
Welcome, December! Bring on the snow, cold nights I’ll wish I bought furry blankets and North Pole coffee’s at Milady (currently having one as I write this).
Changing up my work wardrobe for this month has been tricky. Last year, I wrote a post about when to wear tights. I’m being hypocritical because according to myself, I should be wearing tights right now. However, according to the weather here, I should have bare legs and go for runs outside still! Mother nature has enjoyed confusing us.
Last month (lol), I bought this pink velvet skirt at Target and I’ve been wearing it on repeat! It’s a great transition piece to go from fall to winter and feel like tights aren’t necessary.

I’m only 5’3″, and this $22.99 skirt is a good length to be work-appropriate OR office Christmas party fashionable. It would also be flattering for taller gals and hit right below the knee (as it’s probably supposed to 😉 ).
Styling velvet is a lot harder than you’d assume, but I couldn’t go wrong with this leather jacket. I snagged mine on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in 2016, but it’s still available because of the popularity! I’m wearing my traditional work heels (you see them in almost every-other post because I own two pairs of the black and one pair of tan); they’re on sale for $32.50 here.
Tonight I did my first outing of Christmas shopping at Village Pointe, and I’m already failing. I bought myself four shirts. 3/4 are velvet. The trend is here to stay and pairing it with solid materials (like leather) creates balance in your look.

Looking for the perfect velvet piece to add to your wardrobe? Here are my picks. The tanks from Loft I snagged tonight and had to share on here!

Have a great end to your week!
