Back off black, spring is here! Just kidding. Half of my wardrobe is still black. Sometimes though, dressing business professional in the spring can be tricky. Yesterday evening I was sitting in the Walgreens drive through and it started HAILING on me and five minutes later it was sunny. I’m ready for “April Showers Bring May Flowers” to finish up! In the spirit of sun, today I’m going to share some of my favorite Spring Trends for Work.

Spring Dresses

My favorite dress to wear year-round is a structured Ellen Tracy shift with pockets in the front. It works for any occasion – tights or no tights and with any pair of shoes. I think the reason it goes with so many things is because of the structure and solid color. The same goes for the spring dresses above. Solid and structured BUT they are in fun spring colors! This yellow dress would be perfect with a solid blazer or cardigan and any type of shoe.

Spring Vest & Blazer

I thought the trend of long vests (kind of drapey blazers) would die out so I never purchased one in the fall. It looks like this trend is here to stay! This could go over any type of dress or with pants as a half-suit.

Spring Tops

Insert ruffles – all I’ve seen online are shirts with ruffles! They’re versatile and look good on any body type. Ruffles on the sleeves like this or this or on the hem like this are super flattering!

Spring Shoes

#9 – please come to my doorstep. These shoes have been on my wishlist for weeks and I am not sure why I haven’t pulled the trigger! It’s probably because I’ve been living in my new loafers. Comfy loafers are perfect for suits, jeans or cropped pants for church. I also love #12 for a dressier wedge!

What have you purchased for workwear lately? I’m in business-wear 260/365 days of the year, so I am always looking for good additions.
